XICC Tools
=========

Introduction
===========

This package contains one useful program, xicc. This tool takes an ICC profile
and attaches it to the root window of your display, so that applications can
later retrieve it and colour correct anything they display for your screen. Not
many applications currently respect the colour profile, but The Gimp and Eye Of
Gnome do.

Examples
=======

My IBM ThinkPad laptop comes with an ICC profile in the Windows partition:

$ xicc /media/winxp/WINDOWS/system32/spool/drivers/color/IBMTPLCD.icm

My desktop machine's screen has a sRGB calibrated display:

$ xicc data/sRGB.icm

That's it. Now open a calibrated image in something like Eye Of Gnome (2.11
onwards) and hopefully EoG will correct the image for your display.
