XMMS2 documentation tools
Hi and welcome to the new doc/tools directory. Here you will find Doxyfiles for
extracting internal documentation from the XMMS2 source code, as well as scripts
to work with this extracted data. Things to know:
- You probably won't find anything useful in the internal documentation, unless:
1) You're crazy
2) You're a documentation lawyer/nut/whacko
3) You're a software engineer who's feeling curious
4) You're seriously working on the internals of the XMMS2 daemon
5) You're somehow expecting to learn something from/about XMMS2
- You shouldn't use internal documentation to pull off evil hacks (well, you
can, but don't expect us to be ecstatic about it) - use the APIs provided. If
you have suggestions, you're welcome to make them.
- Anything in this directory is entirely optional - you do NOT need anything
here to simply run XMMS2 and enjoy your music.
== The tools ==
Doxyfile-internal:
A doxygen configuration file that's mostly the same as the default Doxyfile,
except that it allows Doxygen to extract internal documentation sections,
documentation about 'static' functions, and produce XML output.
Doxyfile-graph:
This one's just about exactly the same as the default Doxyfile, except that
it enables doxygen to generate class diagrams and function call graphs using
graphviz's dot. You should only use this if you want to see pretty graphs
on your doxygen html pages, and are prepared to wait while the graphs are
generated.
Doxyfile-internal-graph:
This one opens the whole can o' worms: it extracts internal documentation, AND
generates pretty graphs. Use if truly insane, I guess. :P
