xteddy for DEBIAN
----------------------

Comments regarding the Package

xteddy is supported for two reasons:

1. It's an easy exercise to build Debian packages for me

2. Every good Linux distribution should contain this useful program

There where some problems with xpenguin under 8bpp.
I've created a new Pixmap with less colors.
 - The new xpenguin works for me under 8bpp when I don't have
   xteddy at the same time!!!
 - In the background I have xearth which is allocating some further
   colors and it works too.
 - If you can't get a colored xpenguin under 8bpp you can do
   1. close color eating programs or
   2. create a much more reduced xpenguin and send it to
      tille@physik.uni-halle.de
Remark: I tried to reduce the colors with gimp to 32 colors
and to 16 colors. The 16 colors version looks fairly well, BUT

       X Error of failed request:
             BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 53 (X_CreatePixmap)
Serial number of failed request: 59
Current serial number in output stream: 70

was the result when I tried to display it in the same state
when the xpenguin shipped with this package worked (it has
      82 colors!)
I havn't any time to fix that problem.
I would like to mark Bug#26823 as closed with the new pixmap
      together with this text

Have fun with your nice little friend :-)
